NATIONAL ELEMENTARY HONOR SOCIETY The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) helps students to develop their leadership skills. It also encourages academic success. Inductees are selected based upon academics, leadership, community service, activities and Christian character. The students must maintain a “B” average in all subjects to be considered for induction.
The selection process begins by a student turning in a completed Activity Summary. After the summary is reviewed, the faculty evaluates the student’s leadership, community service, activities and Christian character. The information from the student and the faculty will be considered by the NEHS committee and inductees are then selected.
The inductees participate in two service projects a year. In the past these projects have included making “thank-you” baskets for local businesses in the community, a food drive for the Portsmouth Humane Society, sponsoring “Box Tops for Education” fundraisers, etc.
